This was a stop on the California Trail and is now an excellent photographic, climbing, camping, and hiking area.
The City of Rocks National Reserve is an area of 2.5 billion year old granite pinnacles and monoliths. The 700 climbing routes
provide climbing to the 100- 300 foot spires and the 600 foot spires. Twenty two miles of hiking trails provide views of arches, windows and overlooks.
